On November 10, 2021, as part of MSA’s STEAM Day, BE Solar was invited to host a series of demonstrations on how solar panels create clean renewable electricity. BE Solar was represented by Stratton Hatfield, Jo Frith and Stuart Kriendler who presented to our students from the Early Learning Program to Grade 9. BE Solar’s display and interactive equipment were used to help students understand how solar panels produce electricity in real time.

MSA and BE Solar have partnered to install a 424 solar panel system at MSA in 2022. The solar system will save over $68,000 in electricity per year and stop over 8,000 barrels of oil from being burned at BELCO. The system will also stop 4,364 metric tonnes of CO2 from entering the atmosphere. The collaborative partnership between BE Solar and MSA provides the students and teachers with hands-on learning experiences about solar technology. This educational opportunity will help students understand how solar energy can help reduce fossil fuel consumption and reduce the emissions that are creating global warming and the climate catastrophe.
