MSA is seeking candidates for the following administrative position commencing the 2026-27 school year:

 

Finance Manager

The Finance Manager is responsible for leading the financial management, reporting, and control environment of the School. This role supports the Principal of School and Board in ensuring financial sustainability, transparency, and strong governance in line with the School’s strategic objectives.

The Finance Manager oversees budgeting, financial reporting, tuition revenue management, and internal controls, and serves as a key advisor on financial planning and risk management.

Specific Responsibilities

· Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis against budget and forecast

· Lead year-end financial statement preparation and coordinate external audits

· Maintain robust internal controls and financial policies appropriate for a not-for-profit educational environment

· Oversee procurement processes, vendor management, and purchasing controls

· Coordinate the School’s insurance program, including policy renewals, claims administration, and risk-related reporting

· Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and governance requirements in Bermuda

· Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with senior leadership

· Develop rolling forecasts and long-term financial projections

· Provide financial insights to support strategic initiatives (e.g., capital projects, program expansion, scholarship funding)

· Support onboarding and offboarding staff, coordinating employee benefits and pension enrollment, and overseeing the payroll function

· Oversee tuition billing, collections, and receivables management

· Monitor enrollment trends and assess implications for revenue forecasting

· Partner with admissions to align financial planning with enrollment strategy

· Manage cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning

· Oversee banking relationships and payment processes

· Support financial administration and reporting for the School Foundation, endowment funds, donations, and other restricted funds

· Ensure appropriate investment of surplus funds in line with Board-approved policies

· Manage and supervise finance-related team members and outsourced service providers

· Prepare clear, concise financial reports for the Board and Finance Committee

· Present financial results and key risks to senior stakeholders

· Support development and ongoing monitoring of financial policies

· Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and control

Requirements

· Professional accounting designation (CPA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent)

· 5–10+ years of relevant finance experience, with at least 3 years in a management role preferred

· Experience in education, not-for-profit, or service-based organizations preferred

· Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls

· Experience working with Boards or governance bodies is an asset

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders

· High level of integrity and attention to detail

· Collaborative and proactive approach

· Ability to operate in a small, dynamic team environment
